When in Madrid, do as the Spanish do: Go to Chocolateria San Gines. Since 1894, this original branch has been serving up the three primary food selections from their menu: coffee, churros, and chocolate. Not just ordinary chocolate, but the thickest, creamiest chocolate meant for churro dipping! The elegant shop is decked out in dark green trim, pristine white subway tile, and marble. The day before our friend’s wedding, we found ourselves at a table enjoying the sense of community in the dining room as we all sat there warming up from the cold bonding over these timeless snacks.
